George Gordon Noel Byron, 6th Baron Byron, known as Lord Byron, was one of the most famous English poets of the Romantic Period. Byron was born on January 22, 1788, in London. In 1790, he was taken to Aberdeen, Scotland by his mother. After the death of his father, Captain John Byron, and the death of his great uncle, Byron became the heir to the title Baron Byron of Rochdale. (Holt pg.678) A few years later he was made Lord Byron. In 1794, he attended his first school, the Aberdeen Grammar School; seven years later he enrolled in Harrow School.
