In the film Gattaca, Vincent’s desire to gain acknowledgement and to travel outer space has inspired others around him. As a god-child (born natural way) his childhood was very hard on him. Since he was young, his only desire was to escape this place he called earth, which has become a very dull and genetically enhanced place. Vincent’s brother Anton was of a valid birth. His parents were afraid that they might get another “genetically disabled” birth, so they decided to genetically enhance Anton before birth. Vincent and Anton made up a game called “Chicken”, who ever swim the furthest to the ocean wins”. Vincent uses this “game” to measure his strength against god, if he beats Anton the perfect genetic gene brother, he can beat god and all who goes against him. Belief in yourself will change your fate. This is where the competition and the desire to beat the system to get what he wants, begins. The strongest and main part of the film was the swimming scenes. The first race when Vincent loses to Anton. Then the next race which was at their teens, they race each other and you see that Vincent is truly determined to beat Anton this time.
