asdfIt might be assumed that Aristotle, a student of Plato since the age of 17, would share numerous similar view points with his teacher. This is really quite the contrary. Plato and Aristotle differ in many of their philosophical views of Nature. I will compare and contrast each ones viewpoints relative to their philosophies of Nature.
The main way that Plato and Aristotle's philosophies of Nature differ is in their basic foundations. These differences in foundations will lead to different attitudes about and methods of studying Nature. Even though these two differ in many ways, there is one significant similarity about Plato's and Aristotle's philosophies that I will point out. Both individuals had a great impact upon society in their time and today.
I will begin with Plato's view of Nature and why things are the way they are. Plato argues that there is a Universal 'perfect' being that everything is derived from where the attributes displayed by each being in Nature really belongs to the 'perfect' being (BWS, 48)...
