When i read that this game was good competition for Final Fantsy i jumped on the chance to play this game. Now i am not playing the original game of course (i do not understand or speak fluid japanese) i am playing the Rom of this Super Famicon Rpg, Released originally in japan only but "fans"lated years later for us lucky Americans.
Anyhow, the game is a GREAT Rpg. it is very steep competition for the long running FF series. (if you have been in a cave for the past 15 years, FF is Final fantasy, the RPG released by the genius over at Square-Enix (squaresoft at the time)).
You start out as a young boy named cless. You and your best friend Chester go out into the dangerous world filled with goons and baddies.(Typical RPG scenario). When i got into my first battle i was a little confused but a few minutes into it, it was addicting. The battles are set to a panoramic view and you dont pick commands like in traditional RPGs you actually control the main character...
