Permission
Remember when you were a teenager? Did you really want your parents to have a say so in everything you did? Well, neither do many teenagers in the world today. As a teenager, I notice many of my peers, whose parents breathe down their neck, rebel against them. Many people believe that teenagers should be required to get their parents' permission to obtain birth control and contraceptives. I do not feel the same way, because if parents' permission is required, teenagers will still find a way around it. While parents have the right to know what their teenagers are doing, teenagers should not be required to get their parents' permission to obtain birth control and contraceptives because of safety reasons, privacy, and the fact that it would not make a difference.
One of the most important reasons teenagers should not have to have their parents' permission is for safety reasons. Think about what it is like to be a teenager. Most teenagers are uncomfortable talking to their parents about birth control and contraceptives...
