Color coordinating things like clothes and home accessories has always interested me. In fact, I have been told that I have a "knack" for knowing which things go well with other things. For instance I redecorated my bedroom several years ago. I picked out the paint, wallpaper border, drapes, bed linens, and pictures. To this day I get compliments on what a striking room it is. I actually would like to design and decorate rooms in people's homes for a living, like being an interior designer. My dad says I have "expensive" taste and it is best that I spend other people's money than his! To see if this career was for me I needed to know more about the education and training, the types of jobs available, and the outlook for interior designers. I researched in books, magazines, online, and spent some time in the field through job shadowing before I could make a commitment to steer my life down the path of interior design...
