Introduction:
Marketing intercollegiate athletics is a tremendously fast growing career field, with opportunities big and small all over the world. One thing that the world of marketing revolves around is the consumer. Without the consumer there is no one to sell your product to. One of the first things that you have to do as a sport marketer is to find out information about your consumers, what they want, what they need and their interests. Then you have to decide how you are going to market your product. One thing to remember is to stay away from areas that may be exciting to market in, but will not help you in the long run to sell your merchandise. There are many different ways to market products, but things can get more difficult if your product is one that nobody wants to buy.
Discussion:
In this section I will discuss three parts of marketing intercollegiate athletic and they are: understanding your consumers, the Rubber Chicken Method, an outrageous marketing technique and how to market a product that nobody wants.
