Racial Humor in Huckleberry Finn
Mark Twain was an incredibly write, he possessed the ability to capture the time of which he is talking about. This made it so the reader is able to feel and see what he is saying. A very important part of his writing, however, is the technique he uses in order to bring humor into the story. Twain doesn't use dull jokes, lame or crass; he basically uses the humor of life. The things people actually did or said, the things people wouldn't usually catch if they were actually living the life Twain talked about. It people in present day read a book such as Huckleberry Finn, they would more than likely find the book extremely humorous. On the other hand, if people in the past who lived during the time of which the book was written, they may not find it as entertaining. Therefore, humor is a very important part of Twain's writing. All of the different methods used really help in bringing out the differences in our culture, which have developed over time.
