Violence in award winning film has been getting a bad reputation for corrupting our youth. The last several years have seen an increase in the debate over the violence contained in movies. Usually, the year's highest money makers are violent. Even Oscar winning movies, those movies that are the "best of the year" have violence in them. As action movies with their big stars are taken to new heights every year, more people seem to argue that the violence is influencing our country's youth. Yet, each year, the amount of viewers also increases. Some hits include: Mystic River (4 Oscars), Lord of the Rings: Return of a King (6oscars), Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (3oscars) and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines (2 Oscars). (4)All of these movies contained violence, and all were highly acclaimed. And all were aimed at adults who understood the violence and could separate screen violence from real violence. There is nothing wrong with having violence in film...
