Temperament
There are many different theories as to why children differ so much in temperament. This theory has been studied for decades, and many have presented this or that factor influencing development of a child.
Genetics were studying genes, like how character features of the parents such as the color of hair and eyes, are handed down to the child.
Embryologists and obstetricians were looking to see if the cause was through hormones, mother's stress, birth traumas, drug abuse, and more that might affect the structure of a child's brain.
Psychologist and psychiatrists looked at social factors as the cause. It was clearly demonstrated, both in researches of children and experiments with animals, that the lack of the 3A's in relationship with the mother at certain ages result in more aggression in the child's later years. They also specify that lack of contact with other children in their younger years can cause incorrect socialization.
Early childhood professionals feel that temperament is part of the personality with which each child is born. According to Chess and Thomas temperament refers to individual differences in physiological responsiveness. It includes how a child responds emotionally to people and objects...
