This lesson is designed for a class of diverse learners in the 4th grade.
Materials needed:
Book: The incredible journey to the planets by Nicholas Harris; books about the solar system, handouts on the planets, large poster boards, crayons, markers, paint, and construction paper.
Time needed for lesson:
· Day one: 1˝ hours (book, discussion of planets, sun, and stars, and assign groups to planets). ... General Objective: To become familiar with the solar system. ... Students will use printed information, pictures, class discussion and prior knowledge on the subject to gather facts about the Solar System. ... Students will apply their knowledge of the Solar System by labeling a blank map; including planets, sun, and stars. ... Students will be asked for any prior knowledge of the solar system.
