STD's is one of the most horrible things a person can get. That's why people use the method of abstinence. There are so many different STD's, but there are also many different ways to prevent them such as: the pill, Depo-Provera, Norplant, condoms and spermicides, but the one way to prevent STD's or pregnancies is abstinence. All together, there are about 25-30 different kinds of STD's, but there are about 6-8 that are the most common. The STD's that are the most common are: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes, HIV/AIDS and Candidiosis (Zollar). Not very many people use abstinence. Abstinence has many different definitions depending on the person and what they thing it is. One definition is to refrain from sexual contact of any sort including, genital intercourse, oral sex, anal sex, mutual masturbation or any other physically intimate activity done for the purpose of sexual gratification. (Sexual) There are many pros and cons of abstinence. Some of the pros are the following: not having to worry about having kids, won't get a disease, and having something to look forward to on your wedding night...
