Week's Readings
I felt like I was taken back into the time of cowboys. The readings discussed how the "Latino" bandits wreaked havoc in Los Angeles and how they all met their untimely demise. I find it funny that all of the "villains" in these readings were all people of color. Nowhere did it talk about the Anglo bandits. It made it seem like all of the "white" people got along fine, but it was those Chinese or Latino people that were destroying their town. I think that this reading is very bias and racist. I'm not saying that these incidents are not true, but I can tell that an Anglo wrote them. There is much evidence of the ethnocentric views of the writers. The whole, "my race is better than your race" is clearly evident in the way that the people of color are viewed.
