The electromagnetic Spectrum is a collection of types of radiation. Radiation is the emission of energy in the forms of rays and waves. The faster and hotter objects are, the greater levels of radiation there is. The electromagnetic spectrum can be divided into 7 types: radio waves, microwaves, infrared light, visible light, ultraviolet rays, gamma rays and x-rays.
Radio Waves
Radio waves have the greatest wavelength and lowest frequency on the spectrum. High frequency radio waves are able to hold massive amounts of information. Radio waves were discovered in the 1900s. Gugliemo Marconi was the first to send radio waves across the Atlantic Ocean.
Radio waves are commonly used for television, radio and mobile phones. Wavelength ranges as AM radio uses 1km waves compared to mobile phones which uses 30cm waves...
