The passage in Suha on pages 55-56 represents how Suha transitions through different relationships in this stage of her life. It portrays that no matter how much company she has, she still has a strong sense of solitude. She is searching for some source of happiness and resorts to a relationship with Nur that causes her much uneasiness.
Suha actually begins this passage wishing she were alone because she is never apart from Nur. "I missed the particular atmosphere that comes into being only if a person is alone, has spare time on their hands and is waiting for something to happen." This relationship becomes suffocating. If Suha doesn't answer Nur's calls, then Nur will simply show up at her house. This is quite ironic because in this section Suha portrays her perpetual loneliness. Her relationships apparently aren't fulfilling enough. She proceeds to discuss the transitions of her relationships with Nur and Basem...
