Thesis: Like the treasure piracy of Blackbeard's day, music piracy is illegal and should stay illegal, because not only does it rob artists of their hard-earned money it violates the law.
A. How it robs the Artists
1. Recording artists should be looked at as an entrepreneur.
2. Artists have to pay for songwriters, musicians, and studio time just to complete the album. To market the album, artists have to pay an advertising firm, as well as a distribution company to make the album available to the public.
3.Most Recording Labels such as Sony, Def Jam, and Arista take care of these costs, but the artists must repay the Recording Label. This is usually done with the profit made from album sales...
