Beowulf and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers comparison essay
Beowulf and Lord of the Rings are great pieces of literature that help show the similarities of Anglo-Saxon and modern day writing. Both works have one main action hero and both have one main evil character. This helps to make the experience of the reader exciting and stimulating. For instance, in Lord of the Rings Aaragorn is a heroic warrior that everyone knows, and in Beowulf the heroic character is Beowulf. Both of these characters help to kill off evil creatures and other wicked beings.
In Beowulf there is an evil creature named Grendel. Grendel kills men who make too much noise in the Mead hall. Grendel is a fierce beast who is feared by everyone, well everyone in the exception of Beowulf. Beowulf is a strong brave warrior who is almost superhuman. Beowulf, at the end of the tale, slays the evil Grendel and reigns victoriously...
