Imagine a society free of restrictions. A person could go, do, speak, and act as they please. To most, a world like that would seem quite pleasurable. What one does not see is the inevitable desire for self -gratification in human nature. Left untapped, this trait may seem inconspicuous. However, given the opportunity, this inherent fault becomes remarkably noticeable. A culture without rules or authority provides nothing but the opportunity to please oneself.
In the world today, authority keeps people from becoming enthralled in their own selfish desires. Structure, such as law enforcement and government, has kept society from becoming a pack of savages.
