There is a disorder that is called Epilepsy that affects forty to fifty million people worldwide. In this article we will discuss how they treat people with epilepsy, the many different types of seizures, and the over all main points about seizures. Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder in which an uncontrollable event temporally interrupts the normal electrical activity of the brain, causing seizures. Epilepsy may be caused by head injuries, stroke, brain tumors, lead poisoning, genetic conditions, or severe infections like meningitis and encephalitis. What happens in the brain that causes a seizure is when brain cells send out electrical impulses that travel along nerves in the body. The impulses tell the muscles to either contract or detract. If there are too many brain cells sending out impulses at the same time it will cause an overload in the brain.
