Hardware and Installation
The hardware requirements and installation instructions for the program are available separately. The purpose of this sheet(s) is to make you aware of the program content and the ways in which the program can be used to help you achieve particular teaching objectives.
Aims and Objectives
The package can be used either for primary presentation of material, for revision or as a basis for
workshop/tutorial discussions.
The courseware is written to provide students with:
(a) an understanding of the postulated causes and bases of schizophrenia;
(b) an outline of the main diagnostic features of the disorder;
(c) an appreciation of the social problems of schizophrenics and their families;
(d) an understanding of the principles of the treatment of schizophrenia including a thorough knowledge of the drug treatments and their side-effects;
(e) a means of self-assessment of the knowledge gained through using the package;
(f) a chance to analyse some case histories.
Target Users
Pharmacy, Nursing and Medicine and as a revision package for the M.R.C. Psych examination.
