If answering this question from a merely empirical view, then the essay itself would be mundane. As, although the scientific view is important to the wider debate, I feel the question goes beyond the physical nature of human beings (e.g. our D.N.A., we have two eyes, two arms, two legs etcetera.) nevertheless, I am not stating that there is an essential nature of man; merely insinuating that I have addressed the question from a broader perspective. I am willing to consider both the physical and the meta-physical. When digesting the meaning of the question I felt that the word essential, was implying a predominant feature of human kind, therefore there could not be a totally defining explicit quality of man...
