The end of World War I saw John Maynard Keynes as a distinguished economist who accompanied Britain to the <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=Paris&v=55">Paris</a> Peace Treaties to serve as a financial representative. His later book, 'The Economic Consequences of the Peace' went on to condemn the financial thinking of the Allies during the signing of the treaties, highlighting their lack of realism, and questioning the harshness in the treatment of Germany. As Keynes observes, it could be argued that through the Treaty of Versailles, the victorious allies of World War I simply condemned themselves to another world war.
