Finding a solution to a problem is not always easy. There are many things that have to be considered. A problem may be known to exist, but when it is not handled using critical thinking, only the surface may be touched. Critical thinking helps to eliminate clouded judgment caused by emotions, biased perception, and faulty assumptions. Sometimes a decision can be influenced by gender, culture, religion, race, economic status, etc. It is important to acknowledge these influences and be able to manage them. It also helps to keep an open mind and be open to suggestions. By considering different opinions one can frame alternative choices and create a broad range of possibilities. Possibilities can then be evaluated to ensure that the cost of the impact of each alternative will not be greater than the actual problem.
