What is it about dinosaurs and kids? Why are they so drawn to one another? And why can't books and movies and television and museums and toy companies get enough of them?
It seems an unlikely match: Dinosaurs are big and scary and have long claws and sharp teeth. Kids are small and have dinky little teeth that keep falling out and fingernails that can't do much harm to a tissue paper bag.
There's one important fact about dinosaurs, though. Unlike the boogieman who lives in the closet or the monsters that lurk under the bed ready to disembowel any self-respecting child on the way to the bathroom at two in the morning, dinosaurs are dead. Long dead. Kaput for 65 million years.
