Martial Arts History, Religion and Styles
Over the course of time, martial arts history has been altered and exaggerated as demonstrated in the movies that make fun of the old Japanese/Chinese martial arts. This has upset many historians who have spent most of their lives finding the truth about some aspects of martial arts. Of these aspects, there are Spiritualism (religion), Styles and History.
"Many people commonly believe that the martial arts are fighting skills developed for the purpose of warfare". (Yuhan, 1). The skills you need in warfare are mainly based on strength and are at times very crude. Martial arts are not based solely on strength and are not crude. It is thought that martial arts had their earliest roots in people learning ways of defending themselves from attack by animals and other humans.
