To wholly understand and assess the impact gender has had on Catholicism, the past must be acknowledged and studied. The Bible, the basis of Catholic beliefs, recognises former traditions and laws. Primarily, two factors must be noted to conclude on the
redibility of the texts. Males are the dominant gospel writers, writing in a patriarchal era, when little regard was held for females.
God established a patriarchy by creating "Adam" intially. Father Maurice Thompson, priest of St. Christopher's Catholic Church confirms this statement, 'God created man first, Eve was created to help Adam...
