Background
The film, Spirited Away, centres on a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro whose family had moved from the city to a new house in a rural town. As a shortcut, Chihiro's father decides to take a rough and eerie path through the dense woods, despite Chihiro's trepidations. The deeper they go into the forest, the darker it grows. Eventually they got lost and wondered through a tunnel, into a mysterious small town full of nothing but restaurants and bars. Strangely, it seemed deserted, yet the family found unattended savory delicacy around. Chihiro grows suspicious and refuses to touch the heavenly dishes. Despite Chihiro's warnings, her parents start to gorge themselves like pigs.
That is, Chihiro's parents literally transformed into pigs after sunset.
The mysterious town is actually a place where humans shouldn't and wouldn't want to be: a town inhabited by many different kinds of gods, spirits and monsters. Chihiro scurries frantically around the town looking for help...
