When you think of Ebola virus what does it make you think of? Do you really know just how devastating and blood curdling this virus really is? ...
Four strains of the Ebola virus have been discovered. ... The different strains are Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan, Ebola Tai and Ebola Reston. All are fatal to humans except for Ebola Reston. Ebola Reston affects primates, but is not known to affect humans. Ebola Zaire is the deadliest and has the highest death rate, 95%. Ebola Sudan is fatal in about 60% of infected people and monkeys. Marburg is a similar virus, but its structure isn’t the same as the worm looking rods of Ebola. They’re both part of the unique ribonucleic acid virus family. Ebola Tai was found in Africa in 1995 and only affected a handful of people and there were no fatalities. Little is known about this virus except that it is a strain of Ebola.
