In the present product allocation for manufacturing in the company, we noticed that there are some products that shouldn't or are badly placed in the different lines. Plus the market is evolving showing different requirements and order winners for the company to be successful, so keeping this in mind, the company should reallocate some products, to react to the market and have a well focused manufacturing plant.
VOLUME ANALYSIS
Tama Electronics has divided its processes into 4 different manufacturing units. These units are: pilot line, others, vending machines and spares. Within these units, we found products that have different market characteristics and volume requirements that are causing all the troubles the company is facing at present.
For example in the pilot line we found the television model AT261 which has a 120,000 unit forecast with the vending machine model DC79 which has only a 5,500 unit forecast. The pilot line is supposed to be a low volume job shop focused design line therefore products with high volumes shouldn't be there. In the same manner, we found different examples of inconsistencies in other lines that are causing all the problems in the company.
So therefore the company should move products from different lines in order to balance the production in each of the processes. This will benefit the company because it will make the same kind of products using the same process...
