Leadership is a quality that some people possess that is to be admired. Leadership itself is made up of different qualities, all of which are promoted by Scripture. Leadership requires, not only the knowledge of what is right and what is wrong, but the wisdom to discern between the said and the ability to take appropriate action based on that knowledge. In the words of James Baker, "Leadership is knowing what to do and doing it." Perhaps one of the most important elements of leadership is fortitude and confidence in the leadership that each of us is called to have.
Leadership is composed of many different qualities and principles found in the Bible. The Biblical model of leadership is made very clear throughout the Scriptures. "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you," quoth Joshua, "then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve; whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house-hold, we will serve the Lord."
