This is a journal found of a sailor on the Mayflower. It mentions things that happened on the ship and hard times the crew and Pilgrims struggled through. It also expresses the sailor's views and what he thought about the journey and of the Pilgrims. But it mainly discusses a treacherous storm that Mayflower faced one night, the storm was extremely rough but luckily everyone survived it and the ship did not face any major damage.
November 21, 1620
It was cold choppy night on the ocean. We are not much farther from the main land; they say we should be there in a couple of weeks to a month. I am so glad this voyage is almost over I cannot wait to get rid of these people. The only reason I am even here is because of the money I could care less if these people get their freedom from religious persecution or not I just want my pay. I am risking my life by even being making this long voyage as a crew member. Earlier tonight we sailed into an absolutely atrocious storm...
