Stockhausen Klavierstuck III Analysis always seems to involve a certain amount of speculation. This piece is no different.. It is all too easy to try and assetain the reasons why stockhauson wrote this piece. I am going to avoid doing this. We need to describe the music instead of imagining and giving reasons for why and how it was written. Stockhausen's Klavierstuck III poses many problems despite it only being a short piece at 15 bars long. I am going to start by dividing up the piece into different sections because this will give a good solid foundation from which to work, and analyse further. I believe that there are five sections in this piece. The first section is from bar 1 to the last quaver beat of bar 2. This section consists of eight semiquaver beats. The second section continues up until the end of bar 7 and consists of two groups of eight semiquavers. The third section consists of eleven semiquavers, and lasts until the last beat of bar 10. Section four is only two and a half bars long and finishes in the third beat of bar 13.
