Katha Pollitt’s “Why Boys Don’t Play with Dolls” is a brief explanation as to why boys and girls subconsciously choose to play with different toys than the other. Pollitt justifies why children choose to play with particular toys based on the way the child was raised. She supports her essay with examples of feminine actions and how they affect children’s ideas on what they should play with. I do agree with the points Pollitt brings up, but I do believe that there are more reasons why boys and girls act the way they do.
