For our past two reading assignments and one video about our readings I have learned that the three leading men in the stories have much in common. First the obvious fact that there physical appearances are much different from what is considered normal (i.e. their nose's) With much of the same personality traits and the same basic story line that seems to follow these three gentlemen throughout all three stories.
Although in "The Nose" Zen chi does not have a love interest. He does, however, get sympathy from the townspeople and his peers. "The Ike-no-O Townspeople used to say that it was fortunate for the priest that he was a layman, for surely no woman would care to be the wife of a man who had such a nose" (Ryunosuke, 93)
For Cyrano and C.D. the plot is just slightly different. They both have love interests and keep it from there hopefully someday lovers...
