America is a country that was built by the immigrants. In addition, America is a big melting pot for all kinds of ethnicities. However, since 9/11, becoming a citizen of this country of the immigrants has become very hard. In order for me to become a naturalized citizen of this great country, I had to go through very chaotic steps that included the medical examination, interview, and the oath ceremony.
First thing to be done was the medical examination. Well, I went in for the examination on the date of an appointment that was assigned to me to find out that they will not examine me just because my name was misspelled on the letter of examination from the immigration. Therefore, I made the extra trip to go to the immigration office, waited in the line for two and a half hours and finally got my revised letter at a cost of a day missed at work. Then on the next appointment affixed to me, the doctors performed all kinds of tests on me while making me feel as if I were a lab rat. Next, I waited fifteen days to get my reports and moved to the next step.
