The characters in Tomorrow, When The War Began were going on a happy camping trip to "Hell", a place where they could get away from normal life and look after themselves for a week. They named it "Hell" because they thought it would be a challenge in the tough terrain away from the comfort of their normal lives. How wrong they were.
On returning from their camping trip to "Hell" the teenagers were faced with the greatest challenge of their lives. If where they had just been was "Hell" only God knows what to call this hatred filled place. The small country town which the teenagers called home was empty. They found their beloved dogs dead, their homes empty. This small country town had been ravished by war.
Immediately the teenagers had to change their behaviour, from being on a fun filled camping trip to being in survival mode where they always had to watch their back for enemy soldiers. The six teenagers suddenly had to grow up, become more mature far beyond their years...
