The marketing mix is a term, which is used to describe all the activities, which go into marketing a product. It is the blending of the 4 Ps in the right proportion to get the right product. The 4 ingredients are the product, price, promotion and place.
The first P, the product is the most important of all. The product could be a good or a service. The sales and marketing manager of Fortune Ltd will find out through market research their target market segment for coach hire, school travel, day trips and tour operators. And then they will further find out what customers want from the different services they are offering and accordingly change the service to suit customer demands. Once this has been achieved the sales and marketing manager will convince the consumers that their service is the one that they want and that it meets their needs better than any of their competitors' products. The service provided is the most important element in the marketing mix as without the service the rest of the marketing mix is pointless.
