With the upcoming elections for many governmental positions, there has been an emergence of debates concerning many of our country's social problems and issues. As much as each candidate would like to stay away from the controversial issues to keep as many votes as possible, the public demands to hear what candidates will do to provide a solution to these sociological problems. One of these recent problems deals with immigration within United States. An influx of immigrants into our society creates a clash between peoples and creates job controversy and other social issues, issues such as terrorists as undocumented immigrants or citizenship for illegal immigrant workers. Of these illegal immigrant workers, many come from the border between Southern California and Mexico. These illegal immigrants are definitely a social problem and are the subject of debate between political leaders such as Bush and Schwarzenegger.
The number of illegal immigrants in the US grows by 350,000 each year. With such a mass number of people crossing US borders, it's difficult to limit these numbers and to successfully maintain a border patrol. The problem develops when the large immigrants of Hispanics create a "clash of cultures" between Anglos replacing the clash between the usual racial division between blacks and whites. Mexicans unwilling to assimilate will eventually develop into "an autonomous, culturally and linguistically distinct and economically self-reliant bloc" in the Southwest creating a world of two peoples...
