Why Im in Theater

It has come to my attention that you do not support my decision in the career field that I have chosen. I would like to take this opportunity to explain to you why I am proud of being involved in Theater. I know the main reason you don't support me is because you don't think that I can make any money by being in Theater. But then I tell you that I could someday work at places like OpryLand in Nashville and you are fine with my decision as long as I can get you free tickets. I have noticed that you don't give me your support until it benefits you.
There are many people out there in the world who make art in some way or another that don't do it for the money or to benefit other people. They do it because that's what they have dreamed about doing since they were young. As John Rockwell says in his article: To all of you who make Art for its own sake: A Toast in the New York Times "Most of them do not enjoy inherited wealth: sometimes, wealth can sap the will" (1).
I feel that doing something just for the money is wrong; all that matters to me is that I love doing Theater. Being a theater person I feel that I have to earn my recognition...
