GARMENTS OF GLORY
Approximately 4000 years ago, during a visit to Mt. Sinai, God said to
Moses "And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory
and for beauty". These simple words mark the beginning of the Aaronic
priesthood and the many wonderful details and symbolisms of the High Priest
and his garments.
The garments of the High Priest are by far the most meticulously
detailed articles of clothing in the Bible, and the instructions given for them
are some of the most precise in the Old Testament- rivaled only by the
Tabernacle and other feats of construction.
These wonderfully symbolic garments and the traditions surrounding
them lasted for well over 2000 years, until 70 AD and the destruction of the
Temple. At that time, the services of the Temple and the duties of the priests
were suspended.

garments that are so rich in symbolism and tradition.
There were many components in the garb of the priesthood from a

the ephod, a golden crown, the breastplate of judgment, a girdle (sash), a
linen coat, a turban, and linen breeches (undergarments)...
