Should Same-sex Marriage Be Allowed? Should homosexuals be allowed to enter into legal marriage encompassing all the rights of a marriage? Those against same-sex marriage argue that it is immoral. However, I believe that same-sex marriage should be legalized because every person has the right to choose a partner and share benefits, every person has the right to be happy, and, finally, it has been proven children raised in homosexual families grow up mentally healthy. First, the United States government should legalize same-sex marriage because every person has the right to choose a partner to share life and receive his or her spousal benefits. For example, when one person wants to include the marital partner in insurance benefits, bank accounts, or purchase of home, a legalized marriage usually has taken place. I have a friend, Maria who has lived with her partner, Luisa, for the past five years.
