Severe weather events are destructive natural disasters that can cause the loss of lives, direct impact on the economy, and brutal damage to the environment. Typhoons are dangerous whirlwinds where air is generated around the eye or centre of the storm with extremely high speed (http://news.bbc.co.uk/). They are identical to hurricanes, except for that typhoons only occur in the Northwest Pacific Ocean west of the dateline, and hurricanes only occur in the North Atlantic Oceans, the Northeast Pacific Ocean east of the dateline, or the South Pacific Ocean east of 160E (Birchall, 1993). Such a violent storm developed over warm oceans with a temperature of 27C at the water surface (Birchall, 1993). Typhoons and hurricanes start out as weak low pressure winds which move westward over warm temperature oceans (Birchall, 1993). As they evaporate more water into the system, it strengths it's power and becomes unstable (Birchall, 1993). All warm moist that was absorbed into the centre of the system provide a great source of energy (Birchall, 1993)...
