Over the centuries, many types of governments have been in practice and many rulers have passed us by. One type of government is an absolute monarchy with a dictator in charge. Saddam Hussein and Louis XIV are evidence that absolute power leads to self-ambition. Both dictators would have sacrificed their country and everyone in it just to remain in charge. Saddam and Louis had departments to help them in their ruling, but rarely called upon them, or considered what they had to say. The people whom they ruled over looked up to them, but their example was an unrighteous one. Their decisions as absolute monarchies brought trouble and confusion.
When Louis XIV was a child, he told himself that his accomplishments should largely show the time and effort he put into ruling. He amazed kings by his courtesy and respect. At stressful times, Louis adapted well and held back...
