What are the conventions of the genre?
The conventions of the genre are the things, which you would expect to find inside a certain genre, Specific settings, roles, events, and values that define individual genres and their sub-genres. The convention of a horror genre would be blood, isolated areas as these are the types of feature you would expect to see whilst watching a horror movie religion also plays a big part and in that case the dross would be used for such a film

Almost every genre has multiple sub-genres. A book might be a novel (a genre), a science-fiction novel, a romantic science-fiction novel, a first person, romantic, science-fiction novel and so on.
