In the semi-autobiographical masterpiece Jane Eyre, Charlotte Brontė tells the story of a young girl on her journey to self discovery. The main character Jane Eyre goes through a dramatic evolution throughout the course of the novel. When Brontė first introduces us to 10 year old Jane, she is a neglected, simple, and passionate. Early on in the novel, Janes character does not show much self control; she is as raw and real as a young woman could be during the Victorian era. As wild, and as unstructured as Janes early character is, I really enjoyed this part of Janes character development. Jane Eyre, although mistreated and misled, shows a great strength early on in her character by standing up for what she knows is right and not being intimidated by snobby, misleading individuals; for example, Janes wicked Aunt Mrs.
