THALIDOMIDE
With the advance of technology, new innovations have arrived into our lives in many different ways. The problem is that many of these innovations can cause unexpected changes in our lives. Perhaps the greatest innovations are those in the medical world. Often medications and drugs can solve our worst medical problems. Some of the discoveries have created controversy in the past years. Thalidomide is a clear example of why innovations sometimes create bad effects in our healthy lives.
In 1953 Swiss Pharmaceutical Manufacture synthesized thalidomide. After some investigation they discontinued the use of thalidomide because they didn't see any effects. Right after, a German company Chemie Grunenthal "assumed" the responsibility of developing the drug ("The history of Thalidomide" par.1)...
