Environment- As America becomes more and more dependant on industrial companies we tend to ignore the most important aspect, the environment. Much of the current government is concerned with reforms that might need to be taken care of at the moment, and forget about that if there is nothing to look forward to in the future now really isn’t that important. On of the biggest growing problem is pollution. Americans coal-fired power plant facilities are the largest unregulated industrial source of mercury contamination in the country, roughly about 40 percent. Toxic mercury emissions from power plants put over 300,000 newborns each year at risk for neurological impairment. Not only our the children of our future are at danger, but adults are also threatened. Mercury exposure can damage adult cardiovascular and immune systems. The fact that mercury pollution is a growing problem is well known. In 41 states, officials warn against eating fish from many local rivers and lakes because of the high contamination level of mercury.
