Extra Credit-Personal Summary
The Rec 305 course was taught in a very professional manner with the aide of PowerPoint. The slides that were presented contained easy to read, well organized and themed material that provided many students (including myself) the ability to make connections between the importance of nature and its influence upon society. Dr. L. Beck definitely is a credit to his department as he shows as well as commands an authoritative knowledge of Recreation and Wilderness. He speaks with great articulation and is careful to allow discussion for both sides of the conversation. For instance, during his discussion of Oil consumption, he provided a fair and balanced perspective on both sides. During the course we touched on many subjects including the values of wilderness recreation, the wilderness preservation issues, politics of wilderness preservation and much more...
