Common Signs and Symptoms of Visual Impairments
It is possible for vision impairments to go undetected in some individuals. This could be because the signs might not have been noticed, therefore no action would have been taken towards treating their visual condition.
The following are some signs and symptoms that could help identify visual impairments:
Eyes in constant motion
Watery eyes
How Visual Impairments affect Individuals
Vision Impairments can occur at anytime through life. Children can be born with the impairment or it can occur due to an accident. Vision impairments will affect individuals in different ways. Children who were born with the vision impairment will cope more than children who's vision suddenly deteriorated due to an accident etc.
If an individual has had perfect vision all their life, it will effect them greatly if they suddenly lose it. They would be confused because what they could see previously would either not be seen anymore or it may appear blurred.
For example, when they look at a rose, they would see each individual petal and be aware of its general appearance, where as if their vision deteriorated they may see a blur of the colour, unable to identify each single petal or not see the flower at all.
All individuals have needs including:
Physical needs
Intellectual needs
Emotional needs
Social needs
Vision impairments will affect individuals in all these areas of need...
