The Sermon of the Mount
Jesus second ministry is called the year of public favour. This is because it was a year where He started to preach, teach and perform miracles through healing of the sick, raising people from the dead and etc. This is also the time in which He went to the mountain and taught the multitudes. These teachings of Jesus were called the Sermon of the Mount.
Each Jesus' sermon has significance and relevance in the people of His time and to the people now.
As I ago along, I will write the significance and current relevance of some of Jesus' Sermon of the Mount.
Jesus began His teaching by what we call The Beatitudes. One of them states, "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely fro my sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you". This teaching signifies people who are being persecuted, ridicule, mocked because of their boldness in proclaiming Jesus Christ...
